Certainly listening to lots of technically demanding stuff inspires you, and increases your desire to improve, and gives you much higher expectations...

Or it just makes you wanna quit guitar and in a hole the rest of your life... Razz

But if you really want to go to the next level of playing, saturate your brain with it, and even if not, it is definately worth a listen anyway... Cool

Yeah man. I love playing guitar also. I am writing some demos at the moment, and I gotta say, listening to prog and just generally technical stuff makes me wanna practice more!

Even if you don't use the licks and what not, you still get some really good ideas that you can make into your own and change them to suit whatever type of music you are writing.

Good advice ProgMetalDan! Very Happy
