Guitars used on Interactive?
Typical guitarist/gearhead question I know, but I'm interested to know what guitars and other gear Paul used to record Interactive? Any 7 strings? Cheers.

Hey Dan, thanks for joining the board.
Most of the rhythm guitars on 'Interactive' were recorded with an Ibanez AX7221. To be honest I think it's a fairly average 7 string. It's so badly weighted it's almost unplayable standing up! But it looks cool, which is the main thing! Lol!
All the lead guitars were recorded with an American Telecaster, except for 'Zit Xpander' which was recorded with an Ibanez S540Ltd (actually the last time I recorded - and possibly ever will - with a whammy).
These days I use Ibanez SZ's.

Hey man, no worries!
Cheers for the info, interesting stuff. The tele in the album liner pics, looks really cool!
I love the sound of the guitars, can I ask what rig you recorded through? Or is that a secret...

Aussies rule...
ummm, I have a Caparison Horus and I play that through a Laney VC30-112, I mostly just use a Korg multi-fx, but recently I've been trying to find some pedals, I got a Subdecay Liquid Sunshine, which is great for light overdrive, mainly cos I've just started learning more jazz-fusion stuff... I really want to get a 7 string very soon. There's a guy up your way in Brisbane named Dan who makes Oni Guitars, which are custom extended range guitars, 7,8,9 string etc. I'm hoping to get him to make me basically a 7 string version of my Caparison... Either that or a Carvin DC727, T-Mac uses those, and T-Mac rules, so that would definately be an option...

Cool guitar. i've never played them but I like the sounds Adam from Killswitch gets out of them. I've never heard of Oni guitars I'll have to check them out, and I probably have a few students that would be into getting a custom 7 or 8 as well. Cheers.

That sounds awesome! I really really really wanna get a seven strings guitar!
I am sick of playing along to "necromongers" with my arrangement for a 6-string. It's just not the same...
